Our People

Tom Oppenheim, PE

With dedication and determination, anything can be accomplished.

A 36-year veteran in the industry, I have spent the last several years overseeing CEI Engineering’s Local Development Department where I lead a team of 20+ engineers, landscape architects, and designers in developing site construction plans for commercial, residential, and recreational projects in Northwest Arkansas.

As both consultant and project manager, I have been directly involved with many prominent projects in NWA that have contributed to the area’s growth over the last few decades. Notably, I directed the successful repair of Lake Brittany in Bella Vista, Arkansas, and I led the team that developed a nationally recognized program for construction storm water management systems and NPDES compliance for Walmart stores.

I spent 22 years growing my expertise as a Project Engineer and, later, as VP of Engineering and Construction for a large development firm and another 8 years overseeing new store projects and managing the engineering team and ensuring compliance with Walmart stores. Experienced, dedicated, and approachable, I pride myself on helping stakeholders make informed decisions about their developing communities.

In my current role, and due in large part to CEI’s culture of transparency and inclusion, my current focus centers on mentoring a new generation of engineers and project managers and helping my staff learn, grow, and succeed.
