James ‘Tex’ Barnett, PS, RPLS

Tex is a highly experienced Licensed Surveyor in the state of Arkansas with a well-rounded history of working across many industries, helping build CEI’s extensive portfolio of more than 1,000 projects completed in NWA alone. Skilled in AutoCAD, Pipelines, Global Positioning System (GPS), Surveying, and Trimble GPS, he has spent over a decade developing his professional skills while successfully delivering projects that run the gamut of scope, circumstance and industry reflecting all types of survey projects. His experience includes, but is not limited to, road construction, runway expansions, quantity surveys, construction layout, DTM models, pipeline as-built surveys, ALTA/NSPS Boundary Surveys, and hydrographic surveys. In addition, he has a strong background as a real estate professional giving him a unique client and project delivery perspective.

Tex is a driven professional who enjoys a bold approach to problem solving and facilitating project momentum. His progression in the construction field has allowed him to acquire several safety certifications such as SafeLandUSA and OSHA 10. His technical capability, capacity and technical responsibilities vary widely and include coordinating the field and office employees, solving boundary, processing field data, calculations for civil and pipeline staking, and drafting surveys. These responsibilities allow him to create AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble TBC templates and procedures that his staff can utilize to help speed up productivity and reproduce high quality work on a schedule. He often offers training and guidance for his staff in technical concepts and regulations for the many states he’s licensed in. Tex is well versed in technology advances, and actively works to improve the implementation of training and guidance to his staff using cutting edge software and equipment. Tex is highly regarded as an excellent team resource regarding information gathering, and analyzing and conveying relevant information to support project development. He graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Spatial Information Systems from The University of Arkansas at Monticello.
