It’s easy to take convenience stores for granted. The science and coordination behind them is staggering. The NACS convention was a great reminder of all the moving parts and just how far the industry has come. From capturing alternative sources of energy for people by offering drinks of every imaginable type, different takes on snack food embracing trends in diets (mushroom jerky anyone, anyone?), incorporating alternative fuel sources for transportation and continually adding services… package drop off, groceries, fresh made items, produce and technology accessories. The focus remained on creating easier systems that allowed their staff to deliver on service.
